5 month's- sitting up tall

Here are some picture's I took of our little linebacker when he was 5 months old. He started sitting on his own early, right around 5 months. Which seemed to make him much happier- Yay!

The real stuff baby!

Okay, this post is outdated but I still had to put up Liam's first bites of solids. His facial expressions had us cracking up! This was the same day as his 4 month appointment when the dr gave us the go-ahead.
He wasn't all that sure of it and only had a few bites. Which still adds up to more then his sister had in her whole first year of life. Something tells me, he will be my good eater!

2 and a HALF

Lexie had her half birthday on March 29th. She is a smart little cookie, with a loving heart, who has big toddler ambitions.
Here are some things we would like to remember about her in this season of her life:
* Amazing big sister. The love and patience she shows towards Liam amazes me everyday. We have not had to deal with jealousy (yet) and I am so thankful that the Lord knew what he was doing and gave me her first : )

* Fast Learner. Can count to 20. Can count to 10 in Spanish. Can sing at least 20-30 full church songs and any nursery rhyme. She is learning to recognize the letters in the alphabet- we are currently on G. She is looking forward to starting a structured home preschool co-op next year.
* Daddy lover. This kid lives for the weekends to have more time with Travis. She is interested in anything that he is, working on the backyard, bowling, fishing, the garage, etc. And she seems to have him wrapped around her finger. He comes home with new shoes for her at least once a month.
* Good friend. Lexie plays very well with other children. She usually does not have an issue with sharing. She is not aggressive. This makes for great play dates for me, as she requires very little behavior coaching. She asks to pray about her friends and likes to make them special crafts.

* Energy. Lots of it. She can go-go-go. Loves the park with Pops.

* Best sleeper in the house. Sleeps from about 9pm-7:30am at night. Still takes a 2 to 3 hour nap during the day usually. I have discovered when she is out, she is out like a light. Brother is moving in to her room June 1st, so we are praying this doesn't disrupt her.

Potty training is still in progress. Much harder then I first thought, she is really grossed out by it. Tried a couple of different methods and very open to suggestions. So any experienced mom's out there feel free to leave a comment with your advice on that subject. Her and Liam are still in the same size diapers which has made it somewhat convenient for me and I have been flat lazy in that area.
We love her so much and are really enjoying this age she is at.

Liam's Baby Dedication

Here are some pictures that some of our fabulous family took (You know who you are :)

Pastor Ron, dedicating Liam.

We dedicated baby Liam to the LORD at our church. It was a really sweet time for all of us. Here is the scripture we chose to be his lifeverse:
"My son, if your heart is wise; then my heart will be glad; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right. Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path." Proverbs 23: 15-19

The luck of the Irish

Since Liam's name is Irish and we have some in our blood, we went all out on St Pats Day. Lexie called it "green shirt day." Got to love how toddlers think. The next day she tried to tell people it was "pink shirt day." Apparently whatever color of shirt she is wearing, is the theme for each day.

I also ran the St Pats Day Dash the weekend prior with my best friend from high school, Johonna. It was my 3rd time running it, I have ran it every other year for the last 5 years. The course changed a bit though, the crowds were insane, and the race times were inaccurate Might be my last time with that one. But still felt good to due the first race of 2010.

Liam's 4 months

Here is the linebacker's 4 month stats:

Weight: 20lbs 7oz (way off the charts, over 100%)
Height: 27inches (off the charts, over 100%)
Head: I always forget to write it down but it was almost off the charts as well. Quite the bowling ball.

At 4 months old Liam is still not big on sleeping during the day (3-4 naps a day each usually only 30-45 mins.) Nighttime sleep in somewhat unpredictable but still waking at least once a night.
He smiles and laughs a lot. His favorite person in the world would be Lexie (I like to think I am a close second.) Very active and strong.
Wearing size 4 diapers, like his 2 year old sister. Clothes are 9-12 months.
He has been solely fed with breast milk, up until this point. The doctor gave us the go-ahead to start solids now though. Originally, I would of wanted to wait until closer to 6 months because of the risk of allergies but given his size I think he might be ready.

Catching some z's...

Awww- if only they could figure out to do this at the same time!
