Over the river and through the woods...

Okay maybe just 35 minutes south on I-5, down to Grandma Neicey's Lexie went. Daddy was in Vegas for the week and Mommy got her second round of mastitis of the year (not fun!) Grandma Neicey offered to have us down for 2 nights. We got to stay in her beautiful new house and Lexie even got special spa treatment by taking a luxurious bath in her Jacuzzi tub. Then Grandma Neicey spoiled her by taking on a new toy shopping spree at Toys R' Us. Lexie also got to visit with Nana Shar, Aunt Kathy, and Great-Great Grandma Thompson.
Lexie always has so much fun with Grandma Neicey. It was so adorable, the first night she had so much fun, she was laughing and smiling herself to sleep. We did miss Daddy but are so glad we got to spend time with the family in Olympia.

7 months old!!

Happy 7 months Lexie!
It seems like over the last month she has developed so fast. She is so close to crawling (she gets on all fours, lunges, and then nose dives.) She will now wave hello and goodbye. As always, she is so social and eager to get out and about. She is so much fun to watch.

A favorite pet...

"Come here kitty."

"Where did that firball go?"
It's official...baby Lexie has a favorite pet. It looks as though she is going to be a feline lover. I see her scanning around the room for our cat Gracie and then she attempts to crawl/scoot to see her. She laughs at her and even trys to reach out to pet her. Luckily, the feeling looks to be mutual. Gracie always likes to be around Lexie too.

Fishing Weekend

This weekend Lexie got to partake in a Brock Family tradition, fishing on opening weekend at Mineral Lake. We usually would camp but Aunt Becci was kind enough to let us stay at her house in Morton (only about 15 min. away.) It was so nice, it felt like waking up at camp, since Morton is nestled in the mountains.
On Saturday and Sunday Daddy got to do some fishing and caught 6 trout! Lexie and Mommy mostly just hung around camp and mingled with all the family. Trooper and Talley came along too and did pretty well. Lexie tried her first Cheeto and it was a hit! As always the food and company were fabulous. It was nice to spend some family time together since Daddy will be away in Vegas for work this week, we will sure miss him!

A spontanous visit to Mt. Rainer

As we were driving from Morton to Mineral Lake for fishing on Saturday morning, Lexie fell asleep in the car. Travis and I knew she needed a nice nap and thought about extending our drive a bit to help her sleep. Well as we kept going we decided to just take a brief trip to Mt Rainer. It was such a beautiful day and we had never been together. We went all the way up to Paradise and got to look around. I couldn't believe how much snow they still had! As you can see, our girl woke up and lost a shoe! I didn't realize the missing shoe until after all of the pictures were taken (a kind tourist pointed it out.) This shoe was later recovered, unlike several hundred socks recently. She had a blast checking it all out.

Brock Fam: Don't hurt me.

Baby Lexie's Dedication

Exhausted from an exciting morning!

On Sunday, we gave Lexie to Jesus, during a baby dedication at our church service. It was a special time for all of us. Here is the life verse we chose for her:

"You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Psalm 73, verse 24-26.

We thought this was a sweet, simple, and encouraging verse to remind us all that the things of this world are just that. And that there is a much greater reward for us in heaven and with our heavenly father. We pray that Lexie will continue to seek God for counsel and strength throughout her life.
Lexie was great during the dedication, she was entertained by the above ceiling fans and lights. We were blessed to have some family present as well; Grandma Neicy, Nana Shar, Nana & Papa B, Uncle Cris & Aunt Rachel, along with Maggie and Buddy were all there! Afterward we all enjoyed lunch together.

Weekend Fun

Saturday we had 2 thing on our to-do list.
1) Go to The Puyallup Spring Fair with Jason, Aimee, and Baby Reese
2) Buy plants and get them potted for free at the Top Foods sale.
Well, due to SNOW and the cold weather, both things got canceled. We were so sad about the fair because Travis has promised to educate us all on the farm animals, also he wanted to the Northwest Jr Livestock show that he used to be apart of when he was a kiddo. I guess we will have to wait till Fall.
However, we did have a fun laid back time laying around the house and playing with our girl.

So this is what my daddy is always doing...

All mine now....

Dinner with The Mullendore's

We had Tyrel, Susan, and Grayson over for dinner. Tyrel is Travis's cousin, both he and his wife Susan went to CWU with us. Their son Grayson is 11 months old and huge! He is 30lbs and super tall. Grayson is so much fun to watch, he is already walking and so curious! Lexie was enjoying watching him. Grayson and Lexie both seem to love this toy basketball that we have, since they both have tall parents, we are hoping it is a sport they play someday : )
We had a great time catching up with them and hope to see more of them in the near future.

Lions, Tigers, and ....The Brock's

This week we were blessed by spending sometime with our friends The Oord's. They came to visit us on Spring Break, all the way from Spokane. We have been friends with them since we lived in Yakima (they were our neighbors and Trav and Ed worked together.) Ed and Jennifer came with their son Keith and Korean exchange student, Rachel.
We spent a lot of time catching up at our house and on Tuesday ventured to the Point Defience Zoo. Lexie did great. She loved the fish, sharks, and monkeys. Keith was such a huge help with her, he was always patent, she just loved him. We had so much fun with them, and look forward to seeing them on their turf for Bloomsday in May.
Here are some pictures of the zoo and of Lexie playing with the kiddos.

Happy Birthday Uncle Chris!

Uncle Chris is getting old and we all celebrated it on March 30th. (His real birthday is on April fools day.) We had a great time hanging out with the family as well as his girlfriend Britnee, who was in town from college. Lexie enjoyed rolling around on my parent's new carpet. They recently moved to a new house and it is beautiful! Chris is a great uncle to Lexie and we hope he had a special Birthday!
