It's been a dream

We have been prepping our little girl for months about converting her crib into a toddler bed. She has been able to hop in and out of it since she was 2, surprisingly she only will do this if it playtime. Not at nap or bedtime. She has always stayed in the crib and waited for us to come get her out. So with her brother up at least once a night, I didn't want to do anything to hinder my one good sleeper. Eventually we just decided she follows directions pretty well and we should just give it a try.
So when we got back from the Great Wolf Lodge we took full advantage of the fact she was exhausted and told her it was her first night in the big girl bed. We made a big deal about how it is very important to stay in the bed all night and not get out. Sure enough, she did awesome and still doesn't get out for naps or at nighttime. She waits for us to come get her. What a dream!

Great Wolf or BUST!

Just arrived, fresh from their car naps.

Liam is still enjoying his fingers, wherever we go

Travis took a much needed week off of work so we spent 2 nights at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound. I had booked the cheapest room on the cheapest nights to stay. It was worth every penny! This place is awesome! I see us spending more time (and money) there in the future. We loved how it felt like we were really far away from home, even though we were just a 50 minute drive away.
Liam did really well for his first trip away from home. He played great in the water and loved watching all the crazy kiddos running around. All of the action of the water park wore him out...and I think he slept the best he has in his entire life. He napped in the stroller while we were down by the water.
Nothing says "manly" like a purple Laura Ashley stroller

Lexie did great in the water. They provided complementary life jackets which made us feel a bit more at ease. She loved the wave pool and water basketball hoops. We kind of convinced her to go down these rather big slides. I didn't know she would completely be turned around, going head first at a rapid speed. I will never forget the look on her face. Still none of it seemed to scare her. She loved the fudge shop and arcade. There was also clock tower shows and bedtime stories in the lobby.
She loves hoops already
Slightly traumatized after a mom talked her into going on this one...oops!

Her new stuffed friend named "Wolfy"

My brother Chris, Britnee, and Caralynn came for Monday. It was so much fun to have them there. We were able to take turns going on the adult slides and watching the kiddos. Caralynn looked soooo cute in her little poke-a-dot bathing suit!
My personal favorite part of the resort, was the Starbucks in the lobby. I would sneak down and get a drink and read the paper while the rest of the family slept in. Even after a good night sleep, I needed the caffeine to keep up with the kiddos.

Capital City 5 miler

Travis and I started our week of vacation out by running the Capital City 5 miler (part of the Capital city marathon and half marathon in Olympia.) Which meant we packed up our stuff and 2 sleepy babies and headed south to Olympia first thing on a Sunday morning. Lucky for our kids, they got dropped off with the gracious Neicy and Pops Garwood. Pops had waffles with whip cream and they got to watch the on-demand cable shows they no longer have at our house. Let's just say, they didn't miss us.

The run was really fun, a great distance and nice running weather. My brother Chris ran the half marathon so we got to see him before he took off.

I have to brag about my husband here. I love that he can run these races with little training and he does so in awesome times. He ran the 5.2 miles in under 51 minutes. I came in around 47 minutes.

It was a great little "date" and fun way to start our family vacation...after we picked up the kiddos and got Starbucks, we headed south to the Great Wolf!

My baby is 6 months already

Wow, it's gone by fast.Liam's stats at 6 months were:
21lbs 11oz
28.25 inches long
(95% for both)
He is a busy body. Always on the go. He loves to roll and kick his legs. Basically, he is happy if he has an open floor of plush carpet. Does not like to be confined.
As you can see in the picture, he would rather feed himself. Little Mr. Independent.

Lexie goes fishin'

Ready to do this fishin' thing!

Our little girl went fishing with Daddy overnight at Mineral Lake. As you can see, she was sooo excited for this trip. She packed her bag days in advance and practiced fishing in the bathtub. Travis and her had a great time, meeting up with her Papa and Nana Brock, Aunts and Uncles, and lots of cousins. She got to fish out of the boat, play in the dirt, and have fun being outside! Her boat brought in 5 fish. She can't wait to go back for more.

So excited to be with Daddy for 2 whole days!

Dora's twin and more from the Spring Fair

We got this little brochure in our mailbox at the beginning of March. It had the "real" Dora on it and Lexie promptly went and hung it on our fridge. She continued to remind us about it daily and announce, "Me want to go there."
"There" was the Puyallup Spring Fair. How could we say no to such a persistent plea? My Dad volunteered to come with and snapped all of these amazing photos. Of course, once we got there Lex realized the "real" Dora is kind of scary. But she hung in there to meet her without any tears.
Then came the assortment of wild rides this kid likes. Serious adrenaline junky already!
She already has the dates for the BIG Puyallup Fair circled on her calendar.

5 month's- sitting up tall

Here are some picture's I took of our little linebacker when he was 5 months old. He started sitting on his own early, right around 5 months. Which seemed to make him much happier- Yay!
