Another Pumpkin Trip: Scholtz Farms

Showing us where to get more corn on the cob.

Learning about farm animals

Wagon fun

Dad and Lexie

Sunday, we wanted to take 1 more trip to the pumpkin patch with Lexie. Travis hadn't been able to take her since he was hunting. This time we went to Scholtz Farms in Orting (my favorite small town.) It is the cutest little family run patch. It is unique in the fact that they have several "Disney scenes" with the pumpkins dressed up and painted (Sleeping Beauty, Seven Dwarfs, etc.) Last year, my mom and I stopped by with Lexie who was less then 3 weeks old. I can't believe how little she looked. I love to see these flash back pictures.

She had no clue what was going on : )

This year she was in to everything!

Now that Lexie is walking like a pro, she was able to show us exactly what she wanted to look at. She loved the wagon ride and the corn on the cob. As well as the furry farm friends and she seemed to especially favor the goats again. What a beautiful fall day it was to spend outdoors!

October Trip to Maris Farms

Requesting some help out to her car : )

She was enjoying this pose.

Look out!

Big girl!

Peek'a'boo

While Travis was on his extended hunting trip this year, Lexie and I tried to stay busy. On Sunday, we took my mom and met up with the girls from The Brock Family at Maris Farms
Lexie was taking it all in, she mostly had a pretty serious face on. She smiled on the cow train ride, at the baby kitty's, and when she found her perfect pumpkin!
For those of you who have little tots, I would highly recommend Maris Farms. There is a whole courtyard area full of activities for toddler aged kiddos, monster trucks, a petting zoo, face painting, corn maze, yummy food, and the whole pumpkin thing!

She claimed this one right away!

All buckled in her cow, on her first ride!

Waving bye bye, and off they go!

Olympia Birthday Party

This is our bailout plan.

Pushing the mower Uncle Chris got her.

Her Cake

She loves her first doll, from Great Great Grandma Thompson

This little girl is so spoiled as to have 2 birthday parties. My parent's planned a shindig for her the weekend after her birthday, due to the fact Pops Garwood and several others wouldn't be able to attend the one up North.
As usual, Lexie loved all of the attention. She seemed to know right away what this birthday business is all about now. My parents were so sweet to host at there place and we had such a great time! Lexie received some awesome presents and everyone was so generous! One of our favorite moments was when she fixated on putting money in to the new piggy bank she got for Nana Shar. She seemed to really enjoy that, we think she will be fiscally conservative, much like her Uncle Casey.
One of my best friends, Lauren, came all the way from San Fran to see Lexie for her birthday. Lauren and Billie drove from Oregon and it was so awesome to see them! I am trying to convince her to move back the NW so we can see more of her....

Our family and Lauren...Lexie looks like she might of had too much cake!

It was so good to see Lauren!

Don't worry she had more fun then this picture lets on.

12 month appt

Today we went to visit our doctor for Lexie's 1 year appointment. She was in a great mood while we were there. I always try to schedule her appointments early, before her first nap and just feed her breakfast while we wait. I have learned that the doctors don't have much time to get behind if you are their 1st or 2nd appointment of the day : )
The doctor was very pleased with Lexie's growth. I am always kind of concerned because I get a lot of "she looks so little" comments. But according to her stats she is right on target and has followed her growth curve almost to a T.
Doctor said she has stayed long and lean for the first year of life, so that is likely going to be her fate through childhood. Here are her stats:
Weight: 20lbs 5oz (41%)
Length: 30.25 inches (90%)
Head: I can't remember but small (25%)

Lexie got 3 shots and did really well with them. She hadn't gotten any since 6 months but I remember it used to take all day for her to get over them. This time, it really only took a minute or two and the rest of our day was fine. We are holding off on the MMR until 15 or 18 months.

1 YEAR OLD

Just waking up on her special day!

Checking out the action at the park...

Swinging!

Walking!

Watching the kids go the wrong way on the slide.

Birthday dinner with Dad

Our family and the balloon (she won't let these out of her sight these days.)
Her cake, okay maybe we helped a little : )

It is so hard to believe that our little girl turned 1 today. All this week, I have been reflecting on the last year and all of the changes our family has gone through. It has been so much fun watching Lexie grow, change, and learn. I had no idea what all motherhood would entail. A year ago, I would have never imagined this baby girl would consume my whole existence and how I would thrive off her laughs and giggles. It hasn't always been easy, I think the hardest part on me is the few times she has gotten sick. I can not stand seeing her pain or suffering : ( For the most part, Lexie had made our transition into parenting a breeze. She is our little spirted child and just a ball of fun. We can't wait to see what toddler hood and the next year have in store for us.
We spent her special day at the park. It was another sunny day and she just loved eating her lunch while watching the other kiddos run around. After lunch, she got out and practiced her walking, she is now taking 5-6 steps at a time, but still prefers crawling. She enjoyed the swing, the slide, and "talking" to other little people. When Travis got home, we took her out to eat and she had a great time, enjoying even more cake!
Happy Birthday, sweet baby girl, we love you more then words can say!

We celebrated Lexie's birthday 2 days early, by having a little get together at our house. The theme was "farm friends" in honor of our little girls love of animals. It turned out to be a gorgeous 70 degree day and we had so much fun celebrating her first year of life with friends and family. We had 6 babies in the house, ages 6 months to 16 months, needless to say it was one big play date for Lexie! After she awoke from her afternoon nap, most of the guests had left, she sat and looked around our living room as if to wonder if it was all a dream....too cute!
