Maggie turns 2!

Our sweet little niece (Lexie's cousin) Maggie turned 2 and had a party at Roach Gymnastics. Lexie and Maggie took gymnastics at the facility all winter long and it was so much fun to have it to ourselves! The 1st hour the kiddos were able to just have free time on all of the gymnastics equipment with trainers helping out. Maggie looked so cute in her little leotard! As you can see, we had a great time celebrating her special day!

Little Brother!

We found out we are having a little boy in October!! I am so behind on blogging because I have wanted to scan the ultrasound pictures to post them here, but have been draggin my feet. So here's the story:
The night before the ultrasound, we still were debating on finding out the sex or keeping it a surprise. I had a hard time sleeping the night before because I was so excited to see the new baby 1st thing in the morning. Around 1am I woke up Travis and told him I thought we should ask the U/S technician to put the baby's gender in a sealed envelope and that way if we just couldn't wait till the delivery...we could peek. So that was the plan.
We were the 1st appt of the day and we gave the technician our sealed envelope request. She was great. She gave us no clue whatsoever as to what the gender was. This ultrasound was so clear compared with the one I had for Lexie. We could see the baby reaching for his feet, gulping the fluid, and his little heart beating away. When it was time to check for gender, she turned the monitor away from me, and Travis continued to peer on the screen. She typed in some information and then left the room to write something in the file. When she was gone, Travis told me it looked like another little girl. He said he didn't see anything in between the legs and he thought he saw her type "girl."
On the way home, I picked his brain on how he came up with his guess of girl and he said he was 90% sure it was another girl. So after hearing that, I realized I didn't want to hang on this envelope for another 4 months. I wanted to pick out girl names and get Lexie's stuff ready for a sister. So I opened the envelope to find...a very clear ultrasound picture with indeed something between the legs of the baby and a typed "It's a BOY." Wow...it ended up being a big surprise for both of us. And no, Travis is not counting on a future in ultrasounds. (He really did think it was a girl, but he was peeking from far away : )
The tech informed us that the baby was measuring ahead of the due date by almost a week, but the doctor will more then likely not change the due date. They think I just have big babies. Since Lexie was over 2 weeks early and 7lb 8oz, she would of been closer to 9 had she gone to her due date. Let's hope this little guy also wants to show up about 2 weeks early, for mommy's sake : )
We don't have a name yet but are having so much fun looking through the name books to find just the right one. The middle name will be a family name, not sure which one yet, we want to make sure it goes well with the 1st name. So, that is the name situation. We have nothing yet for sure, except the last name.
We feel so blessed to have "1 of each" and Lexie is excited to find out what a "brodder" is all about.

20 weeks- 1/2 way done baking a new Brock!

This pregnancy seems to be flying by...maybe it has something to do with chasing after a wild 20 month old. I just don't have time, to sit and calculate how far away the due date is this time around. I am feeling a lot better then the 1st trimester but still nauseous around dinner time. Nothing ever sounds good for dinner, which as you know, is not typical Lyndsey behavior.

We have our big ultrasound on June 11th, where we are still not sure if we want to find out the sex or not. We both love the idea of doing a surprise, especially because we think it might be our last baby. But it would be nice to start planning, picking out a name, and preparing Lexie for a little sister or brother. With Lexie, I had a strong feeling it was a girl in the weeks leading up to the ultrasound. But with this one, I just can't figure it out. Travis is thinking it is a boy because of the severe sickness and low baby heart rate. I am not so convinced. Good thing we still have 4 more days to decide. I think I will be happy to just to hear that the baby is healthy and growing well.

As you can see, we do already know the baby must be growing well. Amazingly, I have only gained 1 pound this whole pregnancy. I really don't understand how this can be, except that I might have lost a lot of muscle from not working out as much. I am sure I will make up for it in the 2nd half.
By the way, this picture is taken on our new state of the art deck. That Trav did almost entirely on his own in the last week...he did a great job!

Rancho Relaxo

Lauren and Lex
She couldn't believe how much there was to explore

2 of my favorite girls!

Lexie and I headed down to Oregon, to visit one of my best friends, Lauren. Lauren lives in San Fran but her family farm, known as Rancho Relaxo is in Cornelius (near Beaverton.) It has always lived up to it's name, it is gorgeous and quiet. I knew Lexie would love to explore out there.

We had a great time catching up with Lauren, her brother Kurt, and their parents. They are like a second family to me and I wish we could see them more often. We are still working on Lauren moving back to the the Northwest, or at least somewhere other then San Fran : )

I wish I had some more pics of the actual ranch but here are some of Lexie's personal pool party in the yard.

Can't get enough of the zoo

Travis got asked at the last minute to go on his company's fishing trip to Alaska on Memorial Day Weekend. While we were happy for him to get the awesome opportunity, we were bummed to have the 3 day weekend without him : (

Luckily, my mom came up on Saturday and helped me take Lex to the zoo. It was another sunny day and the zoo was packed. I don't think I have ever seen so many stroller's in my life. It is crazy how much she has grown and learned since her last trip to the zoo (just last month!)

She loved to see the animals again and name them. However, my mom and I both determined her favorite thing is getting to the front row and hanging out with other kiddos. She feels so cool being with the older kids, she would get up in front at the windows and offer older kids her snacks. She would also comment on their shoes : )

Point Defiance is so well kept and views are amazing. I think it will defiantly be worth it to get the season pass next year.

Good old fashion wagon fun!

Pops and Neicey came up to watch Lexie while I had some appointments to go to. When I got back they were parading her around the neighborhood in her wagon with their dog, Zoey. Pops took some great photos, capturing the action. I try not to get offended as she attempts to go home with them in their car as they leave. I guess that is the sign of a well spoiled grandchild. Good thing she has a sibling coming soon to teach her to share the spotlight.
